MORE THAN JUST FRESH VEGETABLES

Our subscription program is our cornerstone offering at the farm; members receive a box of unique, seasonal produce every week. They roll up their sleeves and elevate mealtime by cooking in new and exciting ways. And in turn, we plan fun little perks to go along with the program and thank them for supporting their local farm's family. Truly, it's a community, and we can't wait for you to join us!

WHAT'S THE PROCESS?

FullSize_People_5.jpg

We grow and harvest you fresh food.

Every week, we harvest you a variety of fresh, seasonal produce called a "share." We never supplement items; they're always grown on our farm and hand-selected with care. Every member receives the same box of veggies, and that helps us build community.

You pick it up.

Choose a large or small size share. You decide whether you want to receive it for 32, 20, or 13 weeks out of the year by enrolling in the correct program.  Then, you choose from three different weekdays to come pick it up. Arrive at our store on the farm and we'll bag it up for you!

We'll email you a weekly newsletter with share contents, recipes, and farm updates. See what other members are making in our Facebook group. Check out our online Vegetable Library of Resources to learn more about the unique veggies in your share (we grow 80 different crops in a season!)

WHAT'S IN A BOX?

Farming conditions change from year to year, and box contents change from week to week, but seasonality is consistent. We offer 3 programs that span different lengths of time in the year, so you can choose the one that best matches your cooking and eating interests.

Our Extended Season program spans from May through mid-December.

Our Main Season program spans mid-June through late October.

Our Peak Season program spans from July through September.

Is a subscription right for me?

Reflecting on these 3 questions will help you to make a decision about whether a subscription or shopping for items of your choice in our store is better for you.

Some "locavores" might feel more comfortable shopping in our store and at the market - and we are totally okay with that! Here are 3 questions to ask yourself before you commit to this program.

1.

Am I open-minded to receiving a bag of surprises every week?

Tomatoes don't usually come in until the first week of August. But every week you receive a variety of veggies that is different and fun, and we can teach you to enjoy eating with the seasons. Our members say it's like opening a present every week.

2.

Do I enjoy stepping out of my comfort zone?

There's nothing predictable about it. From freezing to canning, to trying different cuisines, to learning about fruits and vegetables like husk cherries, kohlrabi, and radicchio, this program provides an experience unlike shopping at the grocery store.

3.

Can I commit to the experience?

We don't just take your money and send you off with vegetables. Our members have called the experience "exciting" and "fun." But, we really believe you get the most out of the program when you stay current on our emails, read the newsletters, consistently pick up, chat with us, and consider posting in the Facebook group.

WHY CHOOSE OUR FARM?

Grape Tomatoes.jpg

12 seasons of experience.

We've been running our CSA program since 2013. Victoria was even featured in a national podcast to discuss some of her tips for running a successful CSA program for other farmers. We've studied other programs around the U.S. and tested different methods on our own farm. We've interviewed our all-star customers to discover what they love about this process. We collect data to see which crops are most beloved. We understand the importance of variety every week because we eat along with you. In summary, we live and breathe our CSA - we know what works and what doesn't and our wisdom means we can give you the best experience.

We provide resources.

Most CSA farmers will take your money, give you a box of veggies, and send you on your way. Not us - we want you to love this experience. A few days before pickup we send you a newsletter. This includes a list of box offerings so you can plan your meals, veggie storage and care information, 10+ recipes, and a host of photos and updates from the week. When you arrive at pickup, a crew member will go over each of your items as they bag them up. And if you're ever not sure what to do with an item, you can hop over to our online Vegetable Library of Resources or members' Facebook group for more inspiration.

More customization options.

We recognize that eating is not a one-size-fits-all process. Though our base share items are the same for everyone, helping us to find mealtime inspiration together, we offer different options to fit your lifestyle. These customization options include length of season (choose from 3 different programs), choice of 3 pickup days (7+ hour time frame on each day), and share size (large or small). We grow over 80 different varieties of vegetables, so you're not eating squash every week. You can change your pickup day or skip and double a week if you'll be away. There is a swap table available and most weeks include a veggie of your choice so you leave with a bag of groceries you'll actually eat.

We treat our members like friends.

"When I was a newbie to their program, they welcomed me with open arms and I quickly became part of the LGF family." - Anne K.

In addition to providing extra value into the share contents each week, we build in opportunities for raffles, giveaways, freebies, and more fun. Our members are invited to potlucks and free pick-your-own bonus events. We know your kids' names and whether or not you like kohlrabi. We hand select items for every single share that we would only choose for our own kitchen.
