JOIN OUR CREW

Laurel Glen Farm is looking for highly motivated, fast-paced individuals to work for the 2024 season (and potentially beyond!). Ideal candidates are interested in agriculture and committed to hard work.

Below is a list of open positions. The candidate must apply on their own behalf. Please note that we will be collecting applications through April 30, 2024 and plan to be finished hiring by May 7, 2024.

Also note that we are seeking candidates whose availability allows them to commit to an entire season of work, including weekends. Laurel Glen Farm approves reasonable requests for time off, but expects reliable attendance for the duration of the entire season, from approximately May through October. We’re a team and look forward to adding more crew members!

Job Position: Farm Hand

  • Approximately 30 hours per week; may fluctuate a few hours per week across the season with lighter start through May

  • April 30, 2024 through October 26, 2024; full season commitment preferred but negotiable

  • Candidate would be permanently scheduled for the afternoon shift (1 p.m. to 6 p.m.) on Monday through Friday

  • Required: Candidate will be scheduled to work a 7-hour shift on Saturday or Sunday most weekends with some weekends off
     

Pay: $15.69/hour
 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Complete fast-paced physical tasks including harvesting vegetables, planting, weeding, washing and packing produce, and other farm maintenance tasks in most weather conditions

  • Work independently or with a team, taking initiative often

  • Communicate with farm managers and other team members regarding completion of tasks and farm conditions

  • Accept solo retail shifts in the farm store when assigned, attending to customers, handling payments, providing information about store products, and monitoring inventory

  • Assist with on-farm weekend events including stocking produce, parking cars, and providing direction to customers

  • Drive back and forth between fields to harvest
     

Job Qualifications:

  • Required: CT Driver’s License

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. continually and stand for the entirety of shift

  • Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and positively as a member of a team

  • Strong communication skills and friendly personality

  • Preference given to candidates who are pursuing a career in agriculture
